Yesterday we were learning how to mark up footage
and the importance of it. Marking up footage is useful for varies of
reasons, one of them being is that it's easier not only for you, but also for
your team to find specific clips. This is an overall image of my spreadsheet.
I decided to do it
this way because it makes it a lot easier for me to find specific clips and
know whether it is a good take or a bad take, and the quality of the footage, all
helping me to remain organised when editing my music video and to save time. I
added codes to the clips so I know specifically what the clip contains and so that
I can identify footage from the beginning middle and end of the product. I also
named the quality of footage so I know whether it would be the best place
to input the footage, based on its quality.
This is some of the footage’s that I will be using to create my music video, as you can see they all have different codes so that I am able to identify footage and know its use before adding it to the product.
These are my bin files (folders). Having these folders arranged
and organised like this makes it easier for me as an editor to edit and find footages.
Even though I was involved at every stage of development of this product, in
the real world editors would not be on set so they would not know what footage
is which so they too before starting to edit would have to add coded to each
footage which can take a very long time, talking from experience.
